The Bubonic plague killed millions of people in the middle ages. A clock symbolizes because every time more time goes by on the clock the more time is taken away from your life. Also every time the clock chimes its is like when a victim of the plague gets another symptom of the Bubonic plague. The clock tells what time it is but with the Black Death the symptoms tell what time it is. The symptoms come at different times like the swelling of the glands in your body and all the symptoms tell what time it is for you to die. You could not escape Black Plague just like they could not escape time. The Black Death would go on regardless of what people try to do just like time marches on whatever people try to go.
